The Walters Art Museum's collections contain a cabinet that was previously owned by the 18th-century British artist and businessman James Tassie and is now on view in Distinctive Design: European and North American Decorative Arts. Containing 3,824 cast sulfur impressions of carved cameos and engraved intaglios within its 60 drawers, the cabinet has been the subject of recent study. In this curator-led Collection Connections, learn about the cabinet and its connections to other Walters artworks—some newly reinstalled, some never before exhibited.
