Collection Connections: James Tassie: Cameos and Casts in the Late 18th Century

The Walters Art Museum's collections contain a cabinet that was previously owned by the 18th-century British artist and businessman James Tassie and is now on view in Distinctive Design: European and North American Decorative Arts. Containing 3,824 cast sulfur impressions of carved cameos and engraved intaglios within its 60 drawers, the cabinet has been the subject of recent study.
