Online registration for this event has now closed.

Sunday May 5

2:00 PM  –  3:30 PM

Have you ever wondered how ancient mirrors worked 2,300 years ago? As part of the exhibition Objects of Curiosity: What Will We Discover?, visitors can join us as we investigate an Etruscan mirror in Studio One West. Dr. Alexandra Carpino, a scholar of Etruscan art and culture and Professor of Art History at Northern Arizona University, will share her knowledge of the history and use of mirrors in pre-Roman Italy as a foundation for a conversation with Roz Kreizenbeck, Manager of Gallery Experience & Interpretation, and Dr. Lisa Anderson-Zhu, Associate Curator of Ancient Mediterranean Art. Following the conversation, audience members are invited to participate in a Q&A session with the speakers and a light reception in the Museum Cafe.

Objects of Curiosity: What Will We Discover? engages the public in a conversation about objects in the Walters’ historic collection and is on view on Level 2 of 1 West Mount Vernon Place.

This program is one of two lectures that are generously funded each year by the Boshell Foundation.

ASL interpretation will be provided for this program.
