Celebrate the opening of our new exhibition Soulful Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt with a special expanded edition of First Thursdays: Make and Mingle. In this unique installment of our monthly adult drop-in program, you can create a work of art honoring a living being. Guests can also take a curator-led tour and enjoy music by Ishta!, a jazz sextet led by Baltimore-based guitarist, composer, and arranger Ahmed Warshanna.
Soulful Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt highlights the stories behind animal mummification and is on view from September 27, 2025–January 11, 2026.
First Thursdays: Make and Mingle is a drop-in program designed for adults to get creative and socialize. We supply all the materials to make art together. A selection of food and drink will be available for purchase, so you can enjoy a glass of wine, coffee, or a snack while you’re crafting. College students can show their student ID for one free cup of coffee. All visitors can receive a 10% discount on purchases made at the Museum Store and Cafe during this event simply by registering.
